Mattamy is using the DELTABEAM® system on Wateridge 360 condos, a multi-building development in Ottawa. The project consists of 4 mid-rise condo buildings, all connected by one large underground parking. By using DELTABEAM®, Mattamy is saving several months of construction time.
“DELTABEAM® allows us to build like Legos” says Jordan Bale, Construction Manager at Mattamy Homes. “This structural system is allowing us to accelerate our construction schedule” Jordan adds. The system consists of composite columns and beams combined with precast concrete slabs. Together, precast concrete and DELTABEAM® make a fire rated structure and a shallow floor structure.
Labor shortage is a major challenge for traditional construction methods. Conventional concrete structures typically require a large team to perform work onsite. With DELTABEAM®, a combination of reduced onsite labor (approx.. 50% less) and increased speed of construction (approx.. 2 months saved) can be achieved.
The structure of Wateridge 360 Condos is being erected by Hectare Construction.
