The Aukštaitija Sports Center in Panevėžys is undergoing a major transformation. A brand-new extension and a complete renovation of the existing facilities are in full swing. The centerpiece of the project is a 50-meter, 10-lane swimming pool built to Olympic standards. The extension will also feature a modern SPA area, sports halls, physiotherapy rooms, and a café, offering a mix of activity and relaxation for visitors. The complex is designed to accommodate up to 250 visitors, with seating for 600–800 spectators in the stands. At the same time, the 25-meter pool is being renovated, and the entire infrastructure, including the roof, façade, utilities, and safety systems, is being upgraded.
At the heart of this project are innovative solutions provided by Peikko. The construction of the new extension relies on 616 meters of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams, which were used to create durable cantilevers and elevation changes in the pool structure. These beams ensured both structural safety and design flexibility, allowing engineers and architects to create functional and visually appealing spaces. Peikko also produced over 105 tons of other steel structures, including steel beams, braces and various frames.
The use of Peikko solutions not only accelerated the construction process but also ensured strong, long-lasting results. By working closely with Peikko specialists at every stage of the project, the client achieved optimal engineering solutions that deliver real value now and for years to come.
